I watched the State of the Union on tape late last night after going out to celebrate the birthday of a friend. While I thought Bush did a fairly good job doing what he wanted to do, a number of points in the speech left me a little concerned. I wanted to write about it last night, but by the time I had finished the tape, my bedtime had long since passed, and so I decided I would save it for today.

Jeff Cooper has saved me the effort. I agree in very large part with him, particularly on the question of from where the funding for all the proposals will come, but I'm not quite ready to characterize this Administration as fundamentally dishonest the way he to some extent does. Anyway, if you watched the speech last night, you owe it to yourself to read this analysis.
